Nothing to type

Say it out loud before you have to.

Put on headphones. Pick a persona. Talk like it's real — they'll listen, interrupt, and answer in voice. yapwave is an AI roleplay coach built entirely around your mic.

03 · How it works

Three taps. Then you're on the call.

No scripts to memorize. Pick a scenario, tap the phone icon, and start talking. yapwave does the rest.

STEP 01

Pick a scenario

Choose from 200+ prebuilt situations or describe one in a sentence — “convince my landlord to lower rent $200.”

End a friendship

STEP 02

Tune the persona

Dial the other side's mood, seniority, skepticism, and backstory. Or roll the dice — surprise yourself.

04 · What's under the hood

Built for the awkward silence.

Pure voice — no chat window, no text fallback. Every feature is tuned for the way real conversations actually sound.

◉ real-time voice

Sub-300ms back-and-forth. Interruptions, pauses, laughter.

Personas cut you off mid-sentence, go quiet when they're thinking, and laugh when something lands. No stilted turn-taking, no push-to-talk. Just a phone call with someone who isn't real.

prosody

They hear how you sound.

Pace, filler words, upward inflection, dead air, that one word you said six times. Scored on delivery — not just what you said.

Listen back. Scrub to the cringe.

Every call is recorded and transcribed. Jump to the exact moment you hesitated, stumbled, or nailed it. Export an MP3 or redo the last 30 seconds.

memory

They remember last call.

Run the same 1:1 across four weeks. Devon recalls what you promised, your usual excuses, and will absolutely bring them up.

◉ TRY NEXT TIME
1. Pause 2s after her question before answering.
2. Drop your pace by ~15 wpm when she pushes back.
3. Cut "just" — you said it 6×.

WORK

Sales & fundraising

Discovery calls, objection handling, pen-selling, pitching a round. Iterate on an opener until it lands.

I ran my Series A pitch 11 times before meeting Priya. The 12th was with a real VC. They passed — but 'with the most constructive feedback of the week.'— Ana F., founder
MANAGEMENT

The hard 1:1

Deliver tough feedback. Put someone on a PIP. Say no to a promotion ask. All the calls no manager wants.

I used to write scripts. Now I just run two practice rounds before a real 1:1.— Jordan L., Eng Director
CAREER

Interviews & offers

Behavioral rounds, panel grilling, the awkward salary ask. Come in warm, not rehearsing in the Uber.

Practiced the negotiation six times. Asked for $30k over their first offer. Got $22k. Paid for the subscription 400×.— Marcus O., senior PM
RELATIONSHIPS

The conversation you're avoiding

Breakups, apologies, telling your parents something hard. Get your first three sentences right.

I rehearsed telling my dad I was leaving the family business. The real conversation still hurt — but I didn't flinch.— R.K., private user
LANGUAGE

Fluency under pressure

Small talk, job interviews, doctor's visits in a second language. Fumble in private so you don't in public.

I passed my German B2 oral exam on the first try. I'd run the examiner persona maybe 30 times.— Lena S., Berlin
EVERYDAY

The weird, specific thing

Asking the landlord for a rent reduction. Returning something without a receipt. Telling a friend their dog can't come.

I literally practiced asking for a corner table. Is that ridiculous? Maybe. Did I get the corner table? Yes.— Simi T.

07 · FAQ

Things people ask before signing up.

Is my voice recording used to train models?

No. Audio stays in your account; we never train on your voice. Delete any recording in one click, or auto-delete after 24 hours.

Do I need a good mic or headset?

Your laptop or phone mic works fine. A $20 headset helps the persona hear you cleanly in noisy rooms, but isn't required.

What if I have an accent or speech pattern?

Our recognizer handles most regional accents, non-native speakers, stutters, and ESL patterns. If something misfires, you can correct a word inline — we don't grade on accent, just delivery.

Will the voices sound robotic?

Nope — they're expressive, with real breath and hesitation. Personas speak at different paces, laugh, sigh, and occasionally cut you off. Ten seconds in, most people forget.

Can my company deploy it for sales training?

Yes — Team plan supports shared persona libraries, assignable scenarios, SSO, and HRIS. Book a demo and we'll tailor a rollout.

Is there a mobile app?

iOS is in TestFlight, Android in closed beta. The web app works great on mobile today.
